Requiem

Introit & Kyrie
(Common time to represent worldliness)

Rest. Rest. Rest.
Requiem aeternam dona eis.
Grant unto them eternal rest,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
Et lux perpetua luceat eis.
Hear our prayer.
All that is flesh will come to be of the light.
Timeless is the light and has all knowledge.
Whatever name we say, from Allah to Yahweh,
the Lord God has mercy.
Kyrie eleison. The Christ has mercy,
and the christlike compassion. Christe eleison.
The Light, the Godsource, the Christlike
- the three are One.
Agnus Dei
(Triple time to represent the Holy Trinity)
Agnus Dei, Lamb of god,
O Holy one, grant them rest. Requiem.
Let the perpetual light shine upon them,
and grant to them rest eternal.
Even if they are to be reborn to the flesh,
back into time, may they have rest. Requiem.
May they feel peace eternal,
and bathe in the perpetual light.
In Paradisum
(12/8, which is four beats each with three pulses,
so you have the best of both worlds)
Dear One, now departed,
know that we love you.
May angels lead you into paradise.
May the chorus of angels receive you.
Once poor and troubled, may you have rest.
Aeternam habeas requiem. Requiem.
Pie Jesu
(6/4,slower pulse, more peacefull
alto & tenor soloists translating the Latin)
Pie Jesu. Pie Jesu Domine
-
(Gentle, gentle Lord)

Donna eis requiem -
(grant them rest) [etc]
Sempiternam requiem
(attacca)
Tantum Ergo
(the climax returns to common time)
Tantum Ergo.
We bow then in veneration,
as the old form gives way to the new.
May our love make up for the failings of our senses.
As the Father, the Mother, The Daughter and the Son,
and all Holiness of Spirit are The One,
may you be of the One, and may you, our beloved,
receive eternal blessing, eternal honour,
eternal love, praise and jubilation.
Perpetual light. Eternal rest.
Rest. Rest.
Requiem.

The organ (or piano) accompaniment is supportive and simple,
both technically and electronically,
so it can be performed anywhere by anyone.
