In 2002, Priscilla Wightman was a
member of Lismore's
Reconciliation Choir "Voices
Together", which I was priveleged
to lead. She brought in some ideas
for a song and asked for help. This is the result. It can be solo with
a guitar, but I wrote it as a three part choral piece. Only a few words
here and there were from me.
Priscilla told me she was
stolen at the age of 6 when she went out of site of her family. She never
saw her parents again! This was just over 30 years ago, when most of us
had no idea of what was really going on. Yet she writes these beautiful
words of love, understanding and Reconciliation. ( Bruce)

----------------------------------
There is love like
a river in my soul.
There is joy like a fountain.
There is strength
in my soul
from family and friends,
associates and lover,
love never ends.
You may wonder why
we walk the walk,
you may wonder why we talk the talk,
you may wonder why we're like that, so hesitant.
You may wonder why we're skeptical, reluctant,
when all the time
harmony and unity, that is my philosophy,
back to front and upside down,
topsy turvy all around.
(CHORUS)
Good honest love that is magical,
empowering, rejuvenating,
good honest love is unchained reaction.
You may wonder why we do the things we do.
You may wonder why we do the things we do.
(BRIDGE)
Indigenous Australians and aliens,
any culture, when their heritage is taken,
be it power, greed, insanity, instantly
when cultural rights are denied, that's genocide.
But to be denied my cultural rights,
somehow makes me stronger,
more loving and wiser,
We are not greedy,
it's not about money,
it's all about family, I am, you are.
My family is important,
the strength they give is good,
My family is used and abused.
My family is misunderstood.
Blessed are the peacemakers. Can we fix it? Yes we can . . (CHORUS)
